THE SWEETNESS THAT OVERSHADOWING THE BITTER STORY OF CHOCOLATE

‘Bittersweet story of chocolate’ is indeed an exquisitely written article by Tim Costello. The heartening ideas of the story have successfully making me dumfounded. It’s certainly upsetting to discover the veracity of the bitter story of things that I love consuming everyday. And it’s also a dismay to be blind by the sweetness of the chocolate, until we neglected the significance of issues behind. The worst part is that our unawareness becomes a part of the hidden tragedy.

To begin with, the story has an interesting title to attract me on wanting to be familiar with what’s within. As I went through the story gradually, I discovered facts and figures about the chocolate we consumes and how unknowingly we many times please greatly in chocolate while ‘incidentally’ caused pain on children situated in a world away. After hearing the misery facts of children exploitation, Tim Costello stated that it’s simply easy to feel distress and helpless, yet we still have our purchasing power as consumers that would able to help the unfortunate children. It's too early to give in.

‘Bittersweet story of chocolate’ should be categorized as a must read article for people around the world. Tim Costello has successfully captivated his audiences by making his introduction with common judgment as what the readers might have. He wrote it flawlessly and kept on track. It’s just a perfect sense of him to publish the article near the Easter day since his introduction has the little part where he said about ‘ feeling a little bit guilty about eating too much chocolate on Easter, etc. ‘ Regardless of all the positive points above, for me, as a teen, the body part were just too dull due to the many figures written on the text and made me bored.

Yet eventually, it has great flow of story, which keeps making me interested to know what’s more. It clearly informs the audiences of the particular issue that we need to be aware of. The fact where he said that we aren’t as powerless as we thought for the reason that we do have a tremendous power to trigger change in our world is truly brilliant because the readers would therefore realize that they have the control to help stopping the exploitation of children that still occurring at present time. Overall, I think it would be best for us to read articles like this one so that we would be more aware of little things in this world of us that we usually neglected.

“AVENGERS? SO GOING TO WATCH IT! >o<”

As a start, I’m going to introduce myself. My name is Clarissa. My lovely daddy picked the name for me, as he loves the meaning, which is clear, bright, and famous. I am 15 years old now and madly in love with watching movies and as such.
At present, I take my education in IICS, IPEKA INTERNATIONAL CHRISTIAN SCHOOL.

My High School life is all about dramas and madness! It might be infuriating sometimes but what can I say? It feels like I would bore to death without all the insanity occurs around me.  Recently, my gals and me were talking about the hot upcoming movie, AVENGERS, that will air on 4th June 2012! We’ve been talking about it since like forever and planning to go even though there is a lot of assessment on the upcoming week.

Today, as I wrote more, I become bewildered about the decision that should I make. Is Avengers really that important, that I don’t even need to give a damn on my assessments next week? Should I go along with my friends and leave all those consequential things behind me?

For me, grades are mainly everything. I have dreamt to take commerce and law in Sydney University since I was in junior high! It means a lot for me if I can move to Sydney and achieve my dreams since I can make my parents happy then. I don’t really have a good relationship with my daddy and mommy but still, I love them so much. So eventually, as I take all that it needs into my consideration, I really feel that studying for my assessments would still be the best decision after all. The ‘avengers’ won’t go anywhere anyway until the next two weeks, while the assessment would never be able to change, it’ll become our grades for our entire life, moreover it contains the biggest percentage from our entire outcome on the report card. It simply means, ‘Avengers? So Not Going To Watch IT!’ at least after next week assessments has finished! :b

Blogging & Internet Issues

At present, Internet has become a crucial part of a person’s daily lives, especially among us, teenagers. To tell the truth, there is no uncertainty that the Internet has truly good impact in widening young people’s knowledge. It keeps everyone to be informed and to always be updated.

Across the nation, billions of people unceasingly operating Internet. Actual example would be myself. I, as a teen, use the Internet to satisfying my enthusiasm for blogging. Habitually, blogging has become a companion that could somehow comfort myself in an unlikely way. With the help of Internet, I could also find ways to avoid ethical issue (plagiarism), etc. which totally helps me on my learning process.

Yet, finding the right and reliable information on the Internet are still difficult, typically for us, teenagers. Teenagers are still unaware to differentiate sites that are dependable and those, which aren’t.

So here are some brief steps that we should take into consideration to judge the reliability of information that we find on the Internet:

First Step:      “ What can the URL inform you?”
Second Step: “How well organized is the page? Is the page a “zombie” or one would deem as the “walking dead” because the one who posted it no longer preserves or updates it? How credible are the links it provides?”
Third Step:     “Are there obvious reasons for bias? What do other says?”
Fourth Step:  “Who is the author or sponsor of the page”
Fifth Step:      “Ultimately, remember that although a page might not encounter the minimum standard as a citable reference, it might assist us trigger good ideas or point to alternative credible sites.”

In time to come, Internet will be more developed. There are good and bad outcomes of everything.
As the Internet getting much more advanced, it will utterly help me to find limitless details concerning any kind of works that I might have in university or times ahead.
On the other hand, I will end up relying on the Internet for everything. It might wholly change the way we, human beings behave and interacts. Due with the click of a button we have millions of resources. Internet in the future might make us not as brilliant as prior time, and we’ll get so addicted that it feels like it has consumed us.

To sum up with, we should be careful of what Internet capable do to our lives!
